What distinguishes my books from other books: 
1.) The classroom notes that I used during my many years of teaching were compiled, resulting in the books that are shown below. These books are, therefore, classroom tested with an enormous rate of success among their users. 
 
2.) They are written with an easy to read language using very familiar mathematical symbols and abbreviations. 
 
3.) They contain ample examples and, adequate exercises. Every problem in every exercise has an answer, a hint, or a solution. All rules and basic concepts are proven. 
 
4.) In each exercise, the number of problems is not overwhelmingly excessive. In fact, they are 
limited in number so that all of them can be assigned for homework. 
 
5.) Each problem in an exercise is carefully chosen different from the others so as to give the 
reader a thorough and comprehensive understanding of the relevant theory or discussion. 
 
6.) I have not written very easy and simple books designed to be used by substandard institutions. Very easy books are unchallenging, boring, and contribute very little (if anything) to the development of the subject. I have written useful books conducive to climbing the mathematical ladder. Every sentence in any of my books is meaningful and has substance. 
 
7.) My books contain no unnecessary pictures or objects. 
 
8.) They contain no color; printed only in black ink. 
 
9.) The books are very reasonably priced. The cost of a book is for its content and not for its 
pictures or color. My books are unique and cost much less than all other comparable books. 
 
10.) A final note: I had my books published by "On Demand Publishing" for the following reason: A book published by a regular publishing company becomes the property of the company. The author gets a royalty. When and if the book is no longer a money maker, the company stops publishing it, and the book is dead. My books published by "On Demand" are mine. I can keep revising them, and improving on them until they are perfect and flawless.

The title of this book describes very well its content. This book is a basic course that lays the groundwork for all ensuing courses of mathematics. The first three chapters deal primarily with the laws and operations of arithmetic---the laws of exponents; common fractions, decimal fractions, and percentages; the rules of divisibility 2 through 12 and beyond; finding the GCD and LCM; using the Euclidean algorithm to find the GCD of two large positive integers; finding the number of positive divisors of a given integer; determining whether a given positive integer is prime or composite, or whether it is rational or irrational; and many many other basic rules and components of arithmetic.

The theory of sets is covered in chapter 4. Also covered here is the principle of duality, the binomial expansion theorem, and a demonstration showing that a repeating decimal is a rational number.

Chapter 5 discusses the properties of the real numbers. Many rules of arithmetic which are normally accepted without challenge, are proven here.

In chapter 6, numbers are expressed in expanded form, i.e., in powers of ten, and the processes of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division are carried out using these expanded forms to justify the process of place-value carry-over's.

Mensuration, dimensional analysis, and measurement are discussed in chapter 7. The British and metric systems are introduced, and a bridge between them is established. The meaning of accurate, and precise measurements is given; and the greatest possible error, and relative error of measurements are explained.

In chapter 8, arithmetic, geometric, and other patterns of sequences are investigated. Numbers to bases other than base ten are discussed.

Application problems in probability and consumer math are given in the last chapter. These include simple and compound interest laws; percent mark-ups and mark-downs; annuity; combination and permutation, and permutation of things where some are identical; and multistage experiments with tree diagrams.

This book covers quite a number of basic concepts of mathematics. It is well-structured, easy to read, and has numerous examples and adequate exercises

Following the chapter on logic is a chapter on relations, functions, and graphs - types of functions; algebra of functions; a practical method of graphing inverse relations; and simply, partially, and totally ordered sets are only a few examples of what was discussed. In chapter 10, patterns of sequences and other number bases are discussed - arithmetic, geometric, and other patterns of sequences are investigated.

Basic number theory proofs are discussed in chapter 11. All the rules of divisibility and what stated without proof in Volume One are proven here.

Application problems in probability and consumer math are given in the last chapter. These include simple and compound interest laws; percent markups and markdowns; annuity; combination and permutation, and permutation of things where some are identical; and multistage experiments with tree diagrams.

It is to be noted here that what has been described in Volume One and Volume Two is but a small fraction of what the manuscript actually contains.
